Hi, everyone! I’m Bria Hammel, CEO and Creative Director of Bria Hammel Interiors and proud member of the Thermador Design CouncilToday, I am so excited to takeover the Thermador blog to share my favorite home design trends for 2021. From stainless steel details to familyfocused spaces, here are some design trends I’m looking forward to seeing more of this year and beyond.

A Return to Warmth

We’ve slowly been seeing the reappearance of traditionalism and classic design for the new year. Say goodbye to grey on grey color palettes and get ready to welcome in the warmth! We’re excited about the switch to warmer colors – beige’s, burgundy, camel, olive, brown and wood tones. However, to ensure the spaces don’t feel dated, we’ll focus on balancing both cool and warm tones to keep the spaces feeling timeless and always on-trend.

Stunning Stainless Steel

Speaking of classic, another design element we are eager to incorporate into our client projects more and more is stainless steel refrigeration – inside and out! Not only is it timeless, easy to incorporate into any style home, but they can be wiped clean in a breeze. Since we typically design for busy families, any detail we can incorporate into our projects that is both beautiful and functional is a win for us! You can browse some of my favorite options here

The Cloffice

If you have never heard of the term cloffice before, now is the time to get familiar. A cloffice is a small space in the home, typically a closet, that’s been converted to an officeMore than anything else, we are all about making our client’s homes work for them and their needs. And, with many of our clients working from home for the foreseeable future, a quiet, designated space where they can be productive is crucial. With a bit of imagination, a closet can be transformed into the perfect home office! Add in a beautiful desk, a beverage cooler  (I have this planned in my own bedroom renovation!), or even a built in coffee machine and a bit of storage, and you have the perfect space to be productive.

Splurging on Specialty

If there is anything that 2020 taught us, it is the importance of having a home that brings you joy, happiness, and even interest! We’re seeing more and more of our clients investing in secondary specialty areas like golf simulator rooms, lower level bars, theater rooms, home gyms, pools, etc. Spaces that create experiences to give them and their family more to do all from the comfort of their own home.

What are some of your favorite trends you’re excited to incorporate into your home in 2021? We would love to know in the comments below! And, for more design inspiration, make sure to follow along with us on Instagram (@briahammelinteriors) and our blog!
