Design and color trends are constantly evolving, but there is one major paradigm shift that is not going away any time soon: personalization. Today’s culinary enthusiasts want to incorporate unique design details to their home that exhibit their personal design, cooking and entertaining style.
With the rise of highly customized entertaining zones throughout the home, such as beverage centers and breakfast bars in addition to a unique preservation configuration for the everyday cooking and entertaining needs within the kitchen, culinary enthusiasts want built-in refrigeration options that enable them to create unique culinary preservation centers. And, many times, these cooks want an application on the exterior that brings the ‘wow’ factor to their guests.
Though some cooks prefer to stick with the classic stainless steel exterior, many are looking to make a statement with the culinary preservation centers that are placed throughout the home. With the doors of the Thermador Freedom® Collection preservation columns able to accommodate custom panels, designers have a virtually limitless ability to use a variety of materials to create a special, attention-grabbing custom exterior.
At this year’s International Builder’s Show in Las Vegas, Thermador demonstrated several inspiring ways to get creative with materials, color and textures to transform culinary preservation centers into a functional work of art for the home.
One of the most talked about applications, the Blue Ombré wall, featured fabricated wood panels with car paint sprayed on to create a stunning ombré effect. This configuration featured two wine preservation columns, with a built-in freezer on the left and a built-in refrigerator on the right.
Thermador also displayed a preservation wall with fabricated wood custom panels that featured an ocean wave finish, an eye-catching texture that conjures thoughts of waves and the beach. This preservation center featured a built-in bottom freezer refrigerator flanked on either side with wine refrigerators.
This refrigeration center is a natural artistic expression of tree branches framed by wood. The panels are a fabricated wood with the branches carved into them, painted white. The unit features two refrigerator columns with a wine refrigerator in the middle.
White kitchens continue to be timeless – some refer to them as ‘the little black dress of the kitchen’ because white kitchens never seem to go out of style. The frame surrounding this stunning culinary preservation center is created out of antique milk glass, which added a unique touch to complement the white kitchen. This configuration is a fresh food column, wine refrigerator and bottom freezer refrigerator.
With the recent expansion of the Thermador refrigeration line to include two new under counter options, there are now more ways for culinary enthusiasts to bring their dream preservation center to life. In this kitchen, Thermador incorporated 228” of refrigeration! Shown here is just a small portion of all of that refrigeration space, featuring four different wine columns with two under counter Double Drawer Refrigerators and an under counter Wine Reserve Refrigerator in the middle. Each is custom paneled with a beautiful wood finish to match the NEFF of Chicago wood cabinetry throughout the kitchen.
These are just a few examples of the design versatility offered by Thermador built-in refrigeration – imagine the endless possibilities when it comes to creating a unique configuration for your home.
