This has been an exciting week for Thermador, as we were in Las Vegas at the first ever Design & Construction Week – a merger of NAHB’s International Builders’ Show (IBS) and the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS), which took place February 4-6.
We kicked off the week with the unveiling of The 2014 New American Home, the annual show home for the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), highlighting the latest concepts in residential architecture, construction, products and lifestyle trends. Thermador appliances were selected for the heart of the home, and we welcomed a great number of trade professionals and media through the kitchen to see our Masterpiece® Series line of appliances. We were so proud to see our stunning appliances featured prominently in the beautiful, innovative contemporary kitchen, which was truly designed for a culinary enthusiast.
On February 4, we unveiled our shared Design & Construction Week booth with Bosch and Caesarstone, which was conceived and created by award-winning kitchen designer Mick De Giulio. It was truly a magnificent space, which had all who visited in awe over the creative and inspiring design that made our products shine bright. It was one of the hottest booths to visit, as we featured stunning kitchen vignettes and unveiled new products. We also hosted a series of cooking demonstrations with our in-house chef, Chef Kyle, as well as presentations with special guests, such as Mick De Giulio himself, and – of course – we kept everyone well-fed as any Thermador culinary enthusiast would expect.
Most excitingly, we introduced new Thermador innovation. Our new Professional Grill, which will be available in August 2014, boasts industry-leading design, featuring lava rocks and grill plates that fully cover the heating elements to offer exceptional grilling performance and genuine smoky flavor without the flare-ups. The Professional Grill features a wide variety of low to high temperature control for better taste, texture and quality – something not commonly offered on other indoor grilling products. It will be a new surface cooking feature for our Professional Rangetops, Pro Harmony® Ranges and Pro Grand® Ranges.
We also previewed our new Trimless Freedom® Induction Cooktop, giving culinary enthusiasts a second design option for this innovative appliance. It will be available in April, and will be a stunning addition to any kitchen, as it offers a solid sleek black surface that seamlessly blends into the countertop.
During the week our friends at Kitchen & Bath Ideas stopped by the booth to present us with an award for our Freedom® Induction Cooktop, which was named one of the magazine’s Top 30 Most Innovative Products (featured in the Spring issue). It was truly an honor to be recognized for providing culinary enthusiasts with an innovative cooking product – something which we at Thermador continually work hard to do with every new appliance we introduce.
All of us at Thermador would like to thank the builders and designers who stopped by our booth to meet with us and see our new products, as well as to everyone who visited The New American Home. It was an exciting week, with lots to celebrate, and we look forward to continuing this momentum throughout the year.
