Have you attended Thermador’s Virtual Dinner Party yet? If not, what are you waiting for?

We recently attended both parties at the Thermador Web Experience and had a fantastic time. However, the party in Malibu left me craving chocolate cake. Michael, the host, demonstrates how to make a chocolate almond financier on a Thermador Professional Series Rangetop. Since we have a similar Thermador rangetop in our kitchen, we decided to give it a try.

See the demonstration here and give it a try yourself!

We whipped up the chocolate almond batter and generously greased a 10-inch skillet. We poured the batter in the pan and turned on our Extra Low setting, which flickers the Star Burner on and off, allowing you to bake the cake directly on the rangetop. (Side note: Thermador’s Extra Low is the most controllable setting on the market).

In about 30 minutes we had a deliciously moist chocolate cake, which we topped with a dried cherry grand marnier sauce (that we also made on the rangetop). We are thrilled we can cook and bake on our Thermador rangetop. And this chocolate cake is great for entertaining — it is impressive to serve, without all of the fuss.

Note: The Thermador Web Experience is an interactive cooking website designed for passionate home cooks and entertainers. You can interact with the party host, explore Thermador’s latest kitchen innovations and learn culinary techniques without leaving your home. You can choose between two parties, a Manhattan-style urban loft, showcasing the Masterpiece Series appliances; or a Malibu-style beach house, representative of the Professional Series line.
